In week 6, our topic is all about Literary Devices. A Literary Device allows writers to allude to larger themes, ideas, and significance in a tale or piece of literature. It's used to provide a distinctive effect to their writing, either to deliver information or to assist readers to understand it better. Literary devices are often employed in literature to provide emphasis and clarity. There are many different types of literary techniques. The most common are simile and metaphor, which direct to the practice of creating parallels or analogies between two unconnected and contrasting things, persons, and so on. Second, foreshadowing is the use of suggestive words, phrases, and suggestions that set the scene for a tale to develop and offer the reader a sense of what is about to happen without exposing the plot or spoiling the tension. The third technique is a flashback, which occurs when the narrator travels back in time for a single scene or chapter to provide further context for the event. And there are many more styles.
The task we have to do is journal about the topic. I learned that Literary devices or literary techniques are specific structures that writers often use to add meaning or create more compelling stories for the reader. Some common examples are metaphor, alliteration, hyperbole, and imagery. These techniques can give the reader a greater understanding and meaning of the writer's intent. The highlights of the topic are Literary devices or literary techniques.
